Obituary

Glen David Hemphill died on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Golden Horizons in Sandstone.  He was 85 years old.

Glen was born on February 6, 1936 in Wadena, MN to David and Pearl (Grant) Hemphill.  He was devoted to his faith and his loving wife of 62 years, Delores.  He served our country in the United States Air Force.  His greatest passion was the outdoors, and he was a storyteller extraordinaire.

He is survived by his wife, Delores; four daughters, Andrea (Mitch), Kim (Jeff), Beth (Scott) and Melissa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy (Sharon); sister, Donna; sister-in-law, Trina; brother-in-law, Ivy (Nancy); nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A very special thank you to Alan, Kenny, Wayne and Ed for always being available with a helping hand.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Peace Lutheran Church in Finlayson with Rev. Donald Polege officiating.  Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church.   Music is being provided by Marge Haefner, Kathy Johnson, Mike Hemphill and Ann Marie Hemphill.  Casketbearers are Josh Hemphill, Caden Hemphill, Ben Mordick, Jared Kevitt, Samantha Kevitt, Criss Hagan, Bobby Jenkinson and Chris Roy.   Military honors are being provided by the Sandstone Honor Guard.  Burial will take place at 12:30 on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly Area #2.
