George Virgil LaFave Sr., a cherished member of his community, passed away on May 22, 2024. He was born on November 26, 1931 in Hayward, Wisconsin.  George lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
George was a man of many talents and passions. Known for his love of hunting, fishing, and bowling, he found joy and solace in the great outdoors. He was also a skilled mechanic, always ready to lend a helping hand when it came to fixing things. With a quick wit and a vast reservoir of knowledge, George was known for his one-liners and his ability to have an answer for everything.

Family was paramount to George, he adored and doted on his grandkids, ensuring they felt loved and cherished at all times. A true caregiver, George was always looking out for others, making sure they were taken care of and well-fed.

George valued education and was committed to ensuring that his family received the best education possible. He delighted in sharing stories of days gone by, preserving memories of the past for future generations. A talented cook, George's meals brought joy and warmth to all those lucky enough to sit at his table.

Always wearing a smile, George had a contagious laughter that brightened the lives of those around him. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, and his unwavering dedication to his loved ones.

He is preceded in death by Hazel St. John, his sons; George V LaFave Jr., Marlowe J LaFave, and Bruce M LaFave, grandchildren; Ronnie Benjamin, Christopher Nelson, Daisha Honsey, Desirae LaFave, Danielle LaFave, and Randy LaFave, brothers; Ed LaFave Jr., Francis LaFave, and Raymond Thayer, sisters; Pauline Mager, and Dorothy Thayer, half siblings; Barb Davis, Bonita Lucas, Marlon Lucas, and Pat Reynolds.

George is survived by his children; Lorelei LaFave-Nygren, Valerie LaFave, Ursula LaFave, and Melissa LaFave, his grandchildren; Richard LaFave, Marlo Benjamin, Teresa Nelson, Ken Benjamin, Lindsay Benjamin, George V LaFave III, James LaFave, Richard J Benjamin, Tony Benjamin, Curtis LaFave, Breanna Larsen, Brandon Larsen, Dakota Bingel, Brandi Schafer, and Chasity Benjamin, numerous great grandchildren, siblings; Sidney Lucas and Mary LaGuard, and all of Hinckley, Minnesota whom he considered his family.
