It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gary Boyd Kispert, who left us unexpectedly on February 24, 2026, at the age of 71, at his home in Finlayson, MN. Gary was a loving husband, a devoted friend, and a man who knew how to light up a room with his laughter and wit.

He spent his early years in Kenyon, Dodge Center, and Northfield, graduating from Northfield High School in 1973. After high school, Gary pursued his passion for electricity at Albert Lea Technical College, graduating in 1975, becoming a master electrician later on.
Gary married the love of his life, Sandra K. Madsen, on July 21, 1989, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and laughter. In 2003 Gary and Sandy made their cabin in Finlayson their permanent home. Gary dedicated 36 years to the IBEW Electrical Union, he then opened his own business, Pine Lake Electric for 11 years before retiring. Gary was an active member of the SAL (Sons of American Legion Post 243) of Askov, MN since 2024, and the Finlayson-Giese Sportsman's Club for the 25 plus years.
A true lover of the outdoors, Gary found joy in camping, traveling, golfing, and deer hunting. He was also a skilled woodworker and carpenter, always busy with projects, whether it was building furniture or renovating for Sandy and others. You could always find him surrounded by friends and family, always ready to share a laugh.
