Evelyn Angeline Gorton of Mora, passed away at United Hospital in St. Paul, Minnesota on November 6th, 2021.  She was 91 years old.

Evelyn was born in Fargo, North Dakota on May 8, 1930 to Louis an Alice (Wellentin) Probst.  They lived in Alice, N.D. before moving with her family to Brainerd, Minnesota in 1939.  She married her husband, Darrel Gorton on June 3rd, 1948.  Together, they dairy farmed, harvested wild rice, enjoyed fishing, preparing lutefisk and lefse for the family, and spending time with each other, family, and friends.

Her husband Darrel Gorton passed away in 1998, and she spent most of her remaining years at the Dala House in Mora, Minnesota, where her hobbies included sewing, and baking english muffin bread.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne (Amei), Douglas (Liz), Dean (Trudi); her sisters, Ruth VanKeuren, Grace Smolik, Shirley Cleveland, Barbara Seaman; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Alice and Louis Probst; husband, Darrel Gorton; sons, Lanny and Donald.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora with Rev. Anthony Cloose officiating.  Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora.
