Eugene "Gene" Albert Carter, age 65, of Sturgeon Lake, MN passed away on March 11, 2022, at M Health Fairview in Minneapolis, MN with his children by his side.

Gene was born in Bemidji, MN to Albert and Arleen (Ericson) Carter on February 3, 1957. He lived in Turtle River growing up. Gene graduated in 1973 and decided to enlist in the United States Navy from 1974 to 1976. During his time in the Navy, he served on the USS Luce. In 1986 Gene moved to Duluth, MN where he lived for 33 years, working as a inspector for MNDOT.  Gene's favorite hobbies were bowling and taking a nap any chance he got.

Gene is preceded in death by his father, Albert S. Carter. Gene is survived by his daughter, Kayla (Jimi) LeBlanc; sons, Corey Bellino, Justin (Jessica) Carter; grandchildren, Genevieve, Liliauna, Nicholas, Jaxson, Jada, Anakin; brothers, Ole Risland and Jimmie Risland.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Gene on Saturday, June 25th 2022 at The Incline Station in Duluth, MN from 1pm to 4pm.
