Ellen M. Olson died on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.  She was 51 years young.

Ellen was born on November 22, 1973, to Karen Olson in Sandstone, MN. She was raised by her mother Karen and her grandmother, Margaret Gleinke in Cambridge, MN. She attended and graduated from the Cambridge, MN school district. In 2005 Ellen moved to Sandstone and lived at the Community Involvement Programs (ACCORD) and began attending the PHASE Day program. She lived, worked, and thrived within the programs for more than 19 years. She had many, many friends which will miss her always. In the fall of 2024 Ellen moved to Elderwood Assisted Living in Hinckley. Ellen was quite the character, full of life, love and laughter. She loved watching the Golden Girls, dancing, and singing. If you asked her who her favorite musician was, she would say hands down, Michael Jackson. Ellen had a sassy attitude but always had a smile on her face, which lit up every room she entered. Her memory will be cherished by all that knew her.

Ellen is preceded in death by her grandma, Margaret and survived by her mom, Karen.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Methven Funeral Home in Sandstone with Rev. Chris Cundiff officiating.  Visitation will be from 10 until 11 A.M.
