Edward "Ed" Ernest Dunkley, of Mora, passed away on July 21, 2025 at his home. He was 67 years old.

Ed was born on August 30, 1957 in Carlton County to Eugene and Cecelia (Kasabin) Dunkley. He was a devoted grampa to his 6 grandchildren throughout his 18 year relationship to his beloved, Beth Harthan.

Ed grew up east of Hinckley with his family where they spent many hours working and enjoying the outdoors harvesting pulp, maple syrup, wild rice, fish, game and berries. When Ed was 18, he moved to the Mora area where he lived most of his life. Ed and his brother, Curtis married sisters (Julie and Sally Sanders). Ed and Julie were married on June 4, 1977 and spent many wonderful years together before they departed ways. Ed and Curt had a brotherly bond like no other. They were always together tinkering on a vehicle, helping others, hunting, fishing, cutting wood, welding, laughing and telling stories. He loved to fish and knew the rivers like the back of his hand. Over the years, Ed worked at Connor's Fur Post and St. Croix State Park with his dad and brothers, EPC, Bluewater Yachts, Camco, Pine Manor, Grand National Golf Course, St. Croix Casino and the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe as the Earthworks supervisor. He had a lot of knowledge about many things and could build anything he put his mind to. He was a humble and caring man who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

In 2007, Ed and Beth Harthan began dating and formed a lasting relationship with Beth and her two children. Ed and Beth were quite a team. Together they had a knack for gardening and spent many hours growing, preserving and sharing food. He loved to be outside and gaze at the stars while listening to music; especially Waylon Jennings and George Jones. He enjoyed watching nature and his binoculars were always within reach. Ed loved to go to auctions and rummage sales. Eventually, Beth's children, Brandon and Andrea had children, and Ed loved and cared for them all. Little Zoey was the apple of his eye.

He is survived by his significant other, Beth Harthan; brother, Peter Dunkley (Dawn), Sally Dunkley, Emmaline Dunkley, Dennis Tossey, Brandon Speers, Andrea Speers, Tanner Carlson, Jayden Carlson, Kaileigh Orozco, Stormie Orozco, Zoey Speers, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Jack and Katie Dunkley; parents, Eugene and Ceclia Dunkley; sisters: Mary Ann Ailport, Peggy Klapel, Barbara Nelson, Jody Dunkley, Dorothy Anderson, Virginia Mann, Betty Dunkley, Sally Jo Dunkley; brothers: Eugene Dunkley, Curtis Dunkley, Joe Dunkley, Floyd Dunkley; nephew, Clinton Sutton; nephews, Josh Dunkley, Charles Tossey; great niece, Josephine Oltvedt; great nephew, Jose' Dunkley; granddaughter, Kiley; Julie Dunkley, Irene Harthan, Margo Hatch and Linda Harthan.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday July 28, 2025 at 11:00am at the Dresser Methven Chapel in Mora, Minnesota with Bradley Harrington Jr. "Nazhike" officiating.  There will be a visitation one hour prior to the ceremony. A light lunch will be provided following the ceremony.
