It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Raymond Cummings, of Mora, Minnesota, age 81, who left us on July 12, 2026. Doug was born on June 20, 1945, in Braham, Minnesota, and spent his life in the beautiful Comfort Township area of Mora, where he was known for his kindness, hard work, and love of the land.

Doug attended Comfort County School and finished his education at Mora High School, before taking a year of college at Pine City. He worked as a herdsman for several years, along with a stint as a DHI milk tester, before retiring and continuing to enjoy the life he loved on his farm in Mora. He was a dedicated farmer who found joy in working with the soil, tending to his gardens, and providing for his family.

In April 1974, Doug married the love of his life, Linda Crabtree. Together, they built a warm and loving home filled with laughter, family, and friends. Doug was a family man at heart, and he cherished spending time with Linda, their children and wonderful grandchildren, who brought so much joy to his life.

An avid outdoorsman, Doug took great pleasure in hunting, fishing, and gardening. He loved playing cards and was always up for a challenge with word puzzles. Most importantly, Doug relished the time spent sitting down with family and friends, sharing stories, cooking together, and canning the vegetables they grew in the garden.

Doug is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Raymond and Pearl Cummings, Dallas Cummings, his father-in-law Vernon Crabtree, and many dear friends and family members.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, sons Jerome of Dalbo and Mike of Mora, daughter Sara (Aaron) Mattkins of Mora, cherished grandchildren, Kylie and Mitchell Peterson; Rhett & Knox Motley MN; Chase Lee, Mora Justin Cummings; Tyler Cummings, Dalbo Family & friends Mother‑in‑law: Madge Crabtree Brother‑in‑law: David Crabtree.
