Obituary

The family of Dorothy Moore is deeply saddened to announce her passing on July 30th 2026 after losing her battle to stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 86. She fought hard and was surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Dorothy was born September 15th 1939 in St Paul MN to her beloved parents.

Ever since Dorothy was young, she always had that willingness to care and to help others in any way she could. She met the love life on September 9th 1962. They dated and were engaged within 6 weeks. The got married Febuary 23rd 1963. 9 months later they welcomed thier first son,Tony. They then welcomed Dan, Joel, Angie, and Jackie. In the summer of 1972, Dorothy opened her own daycare. She ran the daycare until 1986. Dorothy favorite things to do planting flowers esspiecally roses, baking, knitting, music concerts, enjoyed her sunday church mornings, and most importantly she loved being with her family. Dorothy has 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She loved being a mom and adored being a grandma.

Dorothy was survived by her children, Tony Moore (Cyndee), Angie Jackson, and Jackie Perry (Doug) ; her daughter in law Darlene Moore ;her grandchildren, Katelyn Hanna (Allen), Brittany Dillinger (Cody), Joel Jr. Moore, Jeremy Moore (Ashley) , Jessica Blesener (David), Joe Stenger (Melissa), Jay Stenger (Iska), Jacob Stenger, Hunter Jackson, Parker Jackson, Maddie Jackson, Walker Jackson, Mackenzie Perry, Autumn Perry, Rylee Perry, Hope Perry, & Mishayla Moore ; her great-grandchildren, James, Cameron, Arianna, Neveah, Blu, Watson, Nova, Jaeden, Ian, Isaiah, Madelyn, Adelaide, & soon to be Baby Dillinger. Her siblings, Barbara, Gene, Sam, Billy & many nieces, nephews, & close family friends.

Dorothy was welcomed into heaven by the love of her life, Jim ; her sons Dan and Joel ; her granddaughter Shawna.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Dorothy from 12pm to 3pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at the Forest Lake VFW, located at 556 12th Street, Forest Lake, MN, 55025.
