Donna Marie Biernat, 85, passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022.  She was 85 years old.

She was born in Northeast Minneapolis, lived in Columbia Heights, moved to Mora in 1974, and spent her last years at the Shepherd of Grace in Becker, Minnesota.

Donna went to St. Anthony Catholic School growing up. After high school, she became a bookkeeper at the N.E. State Bank, met her husband, Joe, and got married July 25, 1959.  She then went to Beauty College and became a beautician. She had 4 children – two girls and two boys. When she moved to Mora, she worked at the grocery store and became the produce manager.

She was a homemaker and a Mom. She loved to garden and became a Master Gardener.  She loved reading and drinking her Polish coffee was her favorite hobby, she also enjoyed bowling, embroidery and canning. She was a great cook. She took her flowers and her canned goods to the county fair and State Fair winning many blue ribbons.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband Joe, and her brother.

Donna is survived by her daughter Joël (Brad) Long of Big Lake, daughter Becky (Jim) Bryant of Mora, son Tom (Brenda) Biernat of Pequot Lakes, son Tony (Danielle) Biernat of Zimmerman; grandchildren Ashley (Jared) Thompson, Matthew (Kristie) Bryant, Jacob (April) Long, Aaron (Brianna) Long, Brandon (Vanessa) Biernat, Katelyn Biernat.  Great-grandsons Oliver, Eli & Grady Thompson and Abram Long.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at St. Kathryn's Catholic Church in Ogilvie with Fr. Derek Wiechmann officiating.  Visitation will be on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 5 until 7 P.M. at Dresser-Methven Funeral Home in Mora as well as one hour prior to the service at the church.  Burial will be at St. Kathryn's Cemetery.
