Diane Sue Menne, of Finlayson, Minnesota, passed away on April 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born and raised in Springfield, Minnesota, Diane built a life rooted in compassion, service, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished.
A proud graduate of Hamline University, Diane earned her nursing degree and went on to serve as the Director of Nursing at Mercy Hospital. Her leadership, steady presence, and deep care for patients and staff alike left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with her.
On St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1962, Diane married the love of her life, Mike Menne, they were married for 60 years. Together they built a family grounded in warmth, humor, and togetherness. Diane found joy in the simple and meaningful moments—baking and cooking, hosting family gatherings at her lake home, raising plants, spending time with her grandkids and giving them ice cream and cookies.
Diane is preceded in death by her husband, Mike Menne, daughter, Sue Menne, infant son, Paul Menne, her brother John Todd, and her parents, Stanley and Ruby Todd.
She is lovingly survived by her children: Steve (Jane) Menne of Woodbury, MN, Tom Menne of St. Paul, MN; sister in law Jane Todd of Grand Rapids, MN, grandchildren; Jeff Cox of St. Paul, MN, Mike (Amanda) Cox of Sandstone, MN, Tamara (Joel) Burch, of Finlayson, MN, and Katrina Hostetler of River Falls, WI, she is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Michael, Hannah, Audrina, Carter, and Aiden Cox, Victoria, Violet and Xavier Cox, Avila, Immanuel, Evony, and Gianna Burch— each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Diane's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, her service, and her deep love for family. She will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026 at 2:00PM at the United Methodist Church in Finlayson, MN, visitation will be from 1:00PM-2:00PM at the church.
