Diane Jean Mathias of Hinckley, MN, peacefully passed away at her home on August 26, 2024, with her loving family by her side. Born on May 5, 1949, in Granite Falls, MN, to Milton and Mayvis Sickman, Diane spent her formative years in Wood Lake, MN. She went on to attend St. Luke's Lutheran School before graduating from Wood Lake High School and later attended Mankato Business College.

Diane lived in a variety of places from her hometown of Wood Lake, MN, then Mankato, on to the Minneapolis area and then to Hinckley and Sandstone, finally settling in Hinckley for the remainder of her life. During her lifetime, Diane worked as an office administrator at various places, including the IDS building and the Pine County Courthouse in Pine City. She also enjoyed a role at Ben Franklin in Sandstone, where she cherished interacting with customers. On July 11, 1970, Diane married the love of her life, Alan Mathias, and the couple shared 54 beautiful years together.

Diane took joy in being a member of First Lutheran Church of Hinckley, MN, where she found solace and community. Her hobbies included crafting, baking, rock picking, and bird watching. She had a special affinity for collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia and listening to his music, as well as drawing, spending quality time with her family, and caring for animals.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Mayvis Sickman.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Alan, children Angie (Garret) Gibson of Askov, MN, Chad (Sarah) Mathias of Ham Lake, MN, and Carrie Mathias of Hinckley, MN, as well as cherished grandchildren Kelsey, Kira, Daniel, Allison, Lilly, and Ava, Diane leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.

A celebration of Diane's life will be held at a later date by her family.
