Delores Wachsmuth died on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at the Sandstone Health Care Center.  She was 89 years old.

Delores was born in St. Paul, MN on August 13, 1932.  She was the oldest of seven children and later in life she learned of two stepsisters.  Delores attended Hannibal Wisconsin School until the eleventh grade.  She worked odd jobs in Minneapolis in a bakery, department store restaurant, where she was a waitress.  She also worked at a clothing store downtown Minneapolis; this is where she met her best friend, Denny whose parents owned a newspaper, and she learned to proofread & read upside down.

Delores met her husband, Everett on June 7, 1952, at a chance meeting when vacationing in Hannibal, Wisconsin with relatives.  Her best friend, Denny met up with her and they went to a dance in Sheldon, Wisconsin.   Delores married Everett Wachsmuth November 15, 1952, in New Brighton, MN and they were together until his passing in April of 1994.   Everett was a Corporal in the Army, so they moved to Fort Campbell, Kentucky and after his discharge from the Army they moved several times until they settled in Gilman, Wisconsin where they farmed for six years.  They then moved to Circle Pines, which was close to the Veterans Hospital because Everett needed medical treatment and Delores's family lived in the area for eleven years.  Longing to get out of city life they finally found a 160-acre farm in Hinckley, Minnesota where they moved to in 1973 and remained until the present day.

Delores was a store manager for a local store "Bits and Pieces" in Hinckley, MN until 1991 when the store closed & she retired.  Delores enjoyed feeding the birds, garage saling and shopping with her sisters.  Her home was decorated with all the fun items she found at those garage sales.  Her favorite flowers where roses any color, pansies and lilac bushes.  She ordered yellow lilac's, which were received before she passed that made her very happy.

Delores is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Wachsmuth; her parents, Alfred and Gladys Kitchenmaster; her brother, Richard Kitchenmaster; her sister, Bernice Pojanowski and her brother, Alfred Kitchenmaster.

She is survived by her children, Julie Fuentes of Shakopee, Mn, Bryan (Dianne) Wachsmuth of Mora, Mn, Thomas (Donna) Wachsmuth of Hinckley, MN, Grayling (Kathy) Wachsmuth of Mora, MN; her sisters, Lila Keil, Carol Tu, Jan Holm; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 17, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Hinckley with Rev. Brenda Wicklund officiating.  Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church.  Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery.
