David Lloyd
Williams
Aug 18, 1946 — Apr 13, 2025
Hinckley
David Lloyd Williams, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away on April 13, 2025, at the age of 78 at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Born in Pine City, Minnesota to Glenn and Bernice Williams, David lived a life of service, love, and dedication to his family, community, and the land. After graduating, David worked at Atscott Manufacturing and then enlisted in the US Navy, serving on the USS Hector AR-57 as a machinist and USS Ashtabula AO-51 as a boilermen from April 1966 to January 1970.
David met the love of his life Mary Stepan when he was on leave from the service. They started writing each other until David's discharge. They then both worked at Atscotts Mfg. until they married on June 27, 1970, and took over the family farm, building a life together. David and Mary had three children: Bruce, Dawn, and Miranda, all from Hinckley.
David's love for farming was evident in every aspect of his life. He cherished milking cows, working in the fields, and operating heavy machinery. His patience, kindness, and generosity earned him many friends, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand. After open-heart surgery in 2015, David transitioned from dairy farming to raising beef cattle, adapting to new challenges. Despite health setbacks, David's commitment to his agricultural roots remained strong. David's legacy is one of kindness, patience, and dedication. He was a true friend and a kind-hearted man who loved his family, farm, and community. His love for his grandchildren and enjoyment of spending time with friends on Friday nights will be deeply missed.
David is survived by his wife, Mary, of 54 years of marriage; children Bruce (Alaina) Williams, Dawn Worlickey, and Miranda (Jess) Beutel. Grandchildren Ryan Opsahl, Kyle Opsahl, Madalyn (Ethan) Alleman, Arianna Williams, Molly Worlickey, Holden Williams, Ivie Beutel, Miley Worlickey, and Luke Williams; great-grandchildren Case, Oliver, and Allis and many brothers, and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Bernice Williams, and sisters Betty Ann Williams and Carol Dickhausen.
