David Joseph Guerrette, a beloved son, father, and friend, passed away on October 16, 2023, in Hinckley, Minnesota, at the age of 76. Born on December 24, 1946, in Bangor, Maine, David brought joy and laughter to the lives of those around him.
David proudly served his country as an Army and Vietnam veteran, displaying unwavering dedication and bravery. He was a valued member of the Forest Lake American Legion and Forest Lake VFW, where he actively participated in the Honor Guard and Color Guard, paying tribute to fallen comrades.
Throughout his life, David shared a deep bond of love and companionship with his wife, Judy (Grondin) Guerrette, whom he was married to for 47 beautiful years. Their love was an inspiration to all who knew them. Sadly, Judy passed away in 2014, leaving behind cherished memories.
In his professional life, David devoted his time and talents to Team Industries until retirement. His strong work ethic and passion for teaching impacted the lives of many, leaving an indelible mark on those he encountered.
Outside of work, David found solace and joy in nature. A true outdoorsman, he relished in camping, hunting, and fishing adventures. His children, Maria and Mathew, were fortunate to have him as their guide and mentor, passing on his wisdom and love for the great outdoors.
David was a genuine friend to many, a doting uncle, and a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather. His friendly demeanor and kind heart endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Preceding him in death were his beloved wife, Judy, his mother, Bertha, and his brother, Frankie. He leaves behind his adoring daughter, Maria Patton of Cloverdale, MN, his devoted son, Mathew Guerrette of Stacy, MN, Brother-in-law Bill Grondin of Princeton, and Sister-in-law Shirley Walerak of Stacy MN, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved family members, each carrying a piece of his soul.
As we bid farewell to David Joseph Guerrette, let us remember the legacy of love, strength, and devotion he leaves behind. May we find solace in the memories we shared and take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever guide and protect us. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Burial at Fort Snelling is being planned for a future date.
