Dave V. Halonie of Finlayson, MN passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 9, 2023. He was 70 years old.

Dave was born in Wisconsin and moved with his parents and siblings to Minnesota when he was in fifth grade. He graduated from Sandstone High School and continued his education at a vocational technical school, learning to become a machinist. Dave had a varied career as a machinist, construction laborer, and a skilled carpenter. He enjoyed riding his Harley, hunting, fishing, playing his guitar and harmonicas, and visiting with family and friends. He took pride in being the leader of the local AA group. He was married for over 20 years, divorced, and continued raising his children alone.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Leona, and two sisters.

Dave is survived by four children, Jeremiah (Jamie) of Minneapolis, Shannah (Mike) of Finlayson, Terence (Aubry) of Alabama, Kasey (Micah) and their two children of Alabama; other survivors include one brother, three sisters, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Dave lived his life on his own terms.

There will be a private service held for Dave at a later date.
