Darlene Larson, of Mora, Minnesota, passed away on June 21, 2024, in Rush City, Minnesota.  She was 74 years old.

Darlene was born on September 21, 1949, in Mora, Minnesota to the late Roy and Marie Larson.  She grew up in the family home and was the youngest of three siblings.  Darlene attended Brighter Day in Mora and at the age of 18 went to work for Industries Inc. She worked there for 49 years and had the distinction of being their longest serving employee at her retirement in 2016.

After her parents passed, Darlene continued to live in the family home with her loving caretakers.  She then transitioned into a group home until her health declined.  In September of 2018 she moved into the Estates of Rush City where she spent the last years of her life.

Darlene enjoyed fishing, pontoon rides, playing bingo, playing cards, coloring and washing tables and chairs at the family resort.  She was an excellent roller skater, dancer and loved to sing.  Darlene and her coworkers at Industries had a great time dancing at the Senior Citizens' dances held every month at the family's Fish Lake Resort.

She also loved to bowl and was in a bowling league.  She participated in Special Olympics and received many ribbons.  She looked forward to her birthday parties, playing pull tabs with her dad, and loved going to Hardee's for a Diet Coke.

She is survived by her sister and guardian, Diana (Jim) Dahl, and nieces; Jennifer, Kelly and Shanna, nephews; Scott and Mike, great nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and devoted caretakers.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Marie Larson and brother Michael Larson.

A special thanks to St. Croix Hospice and The Estates of Rush City for their loving care in her final years.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Fish Lake Chapel on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11:00AM with Rev. Rusty Palmer officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:30 until 11:00 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Fish Lake Chapel or Phase-Industries of Mora.
