Mora
Darin Lee Hendershot died on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids. He was 57 years old.
Darin was born in Mora, MN on August 26, 1967, to Steve and Harriet (Stromberg) Hendershot. He went to Mora Elementary and graduated from Mora High School. As a teenager he helped on his grandparents' family farm. He entered talent shows in school with friends as a rock band.
He went on in life to make being a musician, mainly drummer and vocals, his full-time career. He was in many bands locally and abroad. He could play any genre and was self-taught at a young age. Music was his life and the musicians that surrounded him were friends that became family. Some of his favorite memories were making CD's with some of the bands and playing local county fairs and festivals. Between gigs he also spent some time as a DJ and running Karaoke at local bars. Darin had a crazy sense of humor and could always make people laugh.
When he wasn't playing music his second passion was fishing, from Mud Lake in Quamba all the way to Canada and all the rivers in between. He caught many trophy fish of all kinds. He especially loved to Buzz bait for bass.
He loved his nieces and nephews. He loved to read and draw and watch movies. Halloween was his favorite time of the year. He would elaborately decorate inside and out. He enjoyed hayrides in the summer and fall with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Steve and Harriet Hendershot.
Darin is survived by his sisters; Carla (Larry) Simonson and Paula (Mike) Rauchwarter, his nephews Jerad Peterson and Blair Peterson, his nieces; Mandi (Steve) Prihoda, Ashley (Austin) Smith, and Samantha Rauchwarter, eight great-nieces, one great-nephew, and one great-great-nephew, his uncle Donavon (Janeva) Stromberg and many cousins and friends
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
