Daniel William Krein of Mora died on 3 May 2024 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He was 88 years old.

Dan was born April 16, 1936, in Grand Forks, ND to Edward and Mariam (Spicer) Krein. He grew up in Grand Forks, ND and was a U.S. Navy Veteran. In 1975 he was united in marriage to Kaye Van Horn.

Dan was a very kind, gentle, loving man to everyone that he met and interacted with. He enjoyed fishing and watching westerns.

Dan is preceded in death by his wife Kaye Van Horn; his parents Edward and Mariam; two brothers, and a sister.

He is survived by his sons Donald (Sandy) Krein of Coon Rapids, MN and Skyler Krein of Silver Lake, MN; his daughter Sherré (Jeff) Andrade of Andover, MN; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers as well as other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Dresser-Methven Funeral and Cremation Services in Mora, MN. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00am. Military honors will be provided by the Mora American Legion. Inurnment will be at Mission Cemetery in Merrifield, MN at a later date. Lunch will be served following the Memorial Service at Freddie's Restaurant.
