Dale
Hanson
Aug 17, 1955 — Feb 7, 2024
Dale Edward Louis Hanson, age 68, passed away peacefully in his daughter's arms on February 7th, 2024, at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora after a hard-fought battle with dementia. He was a cherished father, beloved grandfather, and a friend to many. Dale's life was filled with adventure, family, and cherished memories.
Dale was born on August 17th, 1955, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, while his father was stationed in the military. Growing up, his family lived in Wisconsin, South Dakota, and the Twin Cities where Dale attended Blaine High School. Dale eventually settled at his property on Pomroy Lake in Brook Park, MN, where he lived until moving into Eastwood Senior Living in May of 2022.
Dale found solace and joy in the great outdoors. Whether he was hunting in the woods, casting a line into the waters of Pomroy Lake, or cruising on pontoon rides around its shores, Dale had a deep appreciation for nature's beauty. He was an avid golfer, finding peace on the greens. Dale also loved to travel which his job at ETECH provided many opportunities for him to see the world, with Hawaii holding a special place in his heart.
His love for adventure extended to the open road, which he explored on his cherished Harley Davidson. During Dale's travels, he made it a tradition to collect Harley Davidson shirts from every destination he visited. A talented cook, Dale delighted in sharing the flavors of his travels with loved ones. He was renowned for his homemade beef jerky, a delicacy that will be fondly remembered by those fortunate enough to taste it.
Dale's memory will forever be held in the hearts of his surviving family: daughter Carly Hanson, sons Derek Hanson (Holly) and Corey Hanson (Melissa), mother Pauline Hanson, sister Teresa Hanson, and grandchildren Andie, Teagen, Weston, Payden, Lucy and Lola, along with his friends and family at Eastwood.
Dale is preceded in death by his son Ryley Hanson, father Russell Hanson and brother Derek Hanson.
Dale's legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at The Dresser Methven Chapel in Mora, MN on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Ronald Hanson. Visitation will be held from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service.
