Dale Walter Dickhausen of Blaine, MN passed away on January 24, 2024, listening to Bruce Springsteen with his family by his side.

Dale is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years Carol (Williams) Dickhausen; parents Raymond and Beatrice (Klein) Dickhausen; brother Bill Dickhausen, brother-in-law Vern Weiss and granddaughter Carmen Dessellier.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Kim (Lou) Dessellier of Ham Lake; grandchildren Andy (Madison) Dessellier and Brooke Dessellier (Cameron Jackson); siblings, Roger (Mitzi) Dickhausen, Judy Weiss, and Carol (Patrick) Lynn, and sister-in-law, Ruthann Dickhausen.

Dale was one of 5 children delivered at home on the North Branch prairie by his grandma Klein. Dale, born shortly after his twin sister Judy, was named after his Uncle Walter Dickhausen, also a twin. After graduating high school Dale enlisted in the Army and spent two years at Ft Leavenworth as a clerk typist and standing watch as a guard. He made the most of his GI bill and attended Dunwoody Technical College to become a foreman pipefitter with the Minneapolis Pipefitters Local 539 where he worked until he retired. Dale loved the outdoors and made the most of summer free time fishing along the river or Lake 11. After he retired you could often find him at the farm in North Branch sitting at the picnic table visiting Bill to talk about current events, family, and grandkids. His true passion was duck hunting in North Dakota, and he would drive out to check the sloughs a couple times before season opener. He was proud of all that his grandkids accomplished and loved to share their successes with others. Dale is remembered as easy going and generous. He loved his songs and jokingly giving others a hard time.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a short service with military honors Monday, January 29th at 2:00 at Rosehill Cemetery in Hinckley, MN. A luncheon to immediately follow at the Hickley American Legion.
