Cynthia Mae Benjamin "Giiwendinookwe", of Hinckley, MN, peacefully passed away at her home on June 23, 2024, surrounded by her cherished memories and the love of her family. She was 66 years old.

Cynthia entered this world on September 20, 1957, in Ely, MN to her proud parents, Franklin and Elsie (Reynolds) Benjamin. Any job Cynthia held was centered around working with people, whether it was as a cage manager, bartender, waitress, or cashier, she loved meeting new people and having her "regulars". Cynthia was a kind and generous soul who had a heart of gold. If she could lend a hand or help someone out, she would without hesitation. She had a contagious smile that lit up any room and a warm presence that made others feel at ease. Cynthia had a love for playing bingo and cribbage but spending time with her family and socializing with her variety of friends made Cynthia the happiest.

Cynthia is survived by her four beautiful children, Rita, Jessica, Elsie (Nikki), Toni; grandkids, Michael, Ariana, Doninique, Shalynn, Lily, Cynthia, Donna, Julisa, Jayla, Floyd, Marty, Elizabeth; sister, Ruby; brother, Timothy; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents, Elsie and Franklin; brothers, Billy, Franklin Jr., Calvin; sisters, Donna, Rose, Florence, and Angela.

Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Meshakwad Community Center with Chato officiating.  The wake will begin at dusk on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 also at the center.  Burial will be at Stevens Lake Cemetery.
