Corey Gene Reed, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 54. He was born on November 3, 1971, in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, and grew up in Grasston and went to school in Pine City, where he left his mark on friends and family alike.

Corey spent most of his life working with heavy machinery, taking joy not only in his job but also in helping others whenever they needed a hand, no matter the time of day or the weather. Recently, he partnered with his brother, Bryan, running over-the-road trucks independently, finding joy in the open road and the work they did together.

An avid tinkerer, Corey loved working on vehicles, even when they didn't need fixing, and his new favorite pastime was barbecuing. You could always count on him to host a barbecue for any occasion—birthdays, holidays, or just because. He was known for his cooking and BBQing skills but humorously kept his recipes a secret, leaving his family to wonder how he created such delicious meals.

Corey was a dedicated family man, making it a priority to support his daughters and grandkids by attending their sports events and functions. He cherished passing down his hobbies, such as welding, shooting, and vehicle maintenance, to his children and grandkids, ensuring his passions would carry on through them.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Nelson; father, Theodore Nelson; and brother, Allen Nelson. Corey leaves behind his daughters, Ashley (Cody) Auers, Samantha Reed, Sydney Reed, and bonus daughter, Haley Duval (Tianna), as well as his cherished grandchildren—Joseph, Alycianna, Keagen, Madilynn, and Wynonna. He is also survived by his brother, Bryan (Joni) Nelson, uncle Bruce Price, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

A private family celebration of Corey's life is being planned for a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor and share memories of a man who gave so much love and joy to those around him. In Corey's spirit, we encourage everyone to celebrate the good times and the delicious BBQ he shared with us all. Rest easy, Corey—you will be missed but never forgotten.
