It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Charles Wesley Halvorson on December 17, 2023, at the age of 90. Charlie, as he was fondly known, was born on December 1, 1933, in Clarkfield, Minnesota to his loving parents Clarence and Holda Halvorson.

After completing his education, Charlie bravely served in the United States Army and was stationed in Georgenborg, Germany. It was here that in a twist of fate, Charlie's path crossed with a woman who would become the love of his life. Lis, and on March 21, 1959, the two souls were joined in matrimony in Clarkfield, Minnesota. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey, making their home in Blaine, Minnesota. Lis worked in insurance, while Charlie pursued a career as a skilled plasterer.

In 1986, the couple seized the opportunity to create cherished memories at their lake house on the serene Mille Lacs Lake near Isle, Minnesota. Finally, in 1995, Charlie and Lis chose to make the lake their permanent residence.

Charlie was a compassionate and generous soul who touched the lives of many. His warm smile, quick wit, and genuine kindness endeared him to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends, often sharing stories and laughter that will forever be etched in their hearts.

He is preceded in death by his wife Elisabeth, his son Gary, his brother Dennis and his sister Eunice.

Charlie is survived by his brother Ralph Halvorson of California, sister Nancy (Dave) Lindall of Oregon, sister Betty (Ron) Lysholm of Montgomery, Minnesota, and sister in law Dorothy Halvorson and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and ceremonies to honor Charlie's remarkable life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 11:00AM at the Mille Lacs Funeral Chapel in Isle, Minnesota, with Pastor Josh Blair officiating. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service, burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery in Isle, Minnesota.
