Obituary

Casey Lynn Raykowski, 36, passed away peacefully at her home in Sandstone, Minnesota, on April 20, 2026. She was born on April 23, 1989, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Casey graduated from Cumberland High School in 2007. She grew up active and spirited, playing catcher in softball and even stepping into the role of goalie in hockey. She was part of a standout, undefeated softball team and a state winning hockey team—something she always carried with pride.

She had a playful and caring heart, with a special love for Legos, time spent with family, and being there for others. There wasn't a child she couldn't connect with—she happily babysat and loved being surrounded by her many nieces, nephews, and kids who simply adored her.

Casey found joy in the everyday moments, especially riding shotgun with her husband, Shawn, the love of her life. Though their time together was far too short, it was filled with deep love and meaning.

She was dedicated to her work at Taco Bell, where she built strong friendships with her coworkers and took pride in what she did. She was excitedly preparing for an upcoming test to become a shift lead, always striving to grow and move forward.

Casey is survived by her husband, Shawn Raykowski; mother, Bobbi Jo Schick (Wycoff); her grandmother, Shirley Soltau; her sisters, Ashly (Jeremy) Zopp (WI), Michelle (Tim) Scheff (WI), Jordan Pride (WI) and Natasha Schick (WI) ; her brothers, Michael Schick (WI), Nick Schick (WI); her father and mother in law, Tim and June Raykowski; her fur babies Sammy, Zuko, and Smokey; many beloved nieces and nephews; along with numerous aunts, uncles, and honorary family members.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Kenny Soltau, Sr.; grandmother, Bette Anderson; grandfather, Robert Wycoff; cousin, Harry Anderson; uncle, Robert Lindfors; uncle, Warren Hotchkiss; and aunt, Linda Hotchkiss (Rush).

Anyone who was lucky enough to know Casey understands that the world will never be the same without her. Her warmth, humor, and genuine care for others left a lasting mark on everyone she met. One day, those who love her look forward to hearing her familiar, comforting greeting once again: "Hi, how are you?"
