Carol Ann Sefcik-Gordon of New Brighton, MN passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at J A Wedum Nursing Home in Brooklyn Park, MN. She was 85 years old.
Carol lived in South Minneapolis pretty much all her life until her early 70's when she moved back up to the homestead in Sandstone with her husband Dick. They bought a trailer home and put it on the land until Dick got sick. They moved back down to the cities in Mounds View. After Dick passed away, Carol then moved to New Brighton into an elderly housing apartment. She was a trooper in her struggle with throat cancer until her passing.
She received her GED which she strived for in the late 1970's. She also took guitar lessons, playing music and singing was where she thrived. She sang whenever she could. There were times at venues she would be asked to sing, especially when she was out with her sister Dorothy. and their best friend Diane. Her first marriage was to Dean Grant they had one child, Kathy. She later married her 2nd husband Donnie Sefcik, they were married for 12 years. Her third marriage was to Dick Gordon they were married for 20 years before Dick passed.
She worked at Honeywell with her sister Dorothy in younger years. She later worked at Litton in Minneapolis, and then at Shapiro Cleaners for many years before she hurt her back.
When she moved up to Sandstone, she took care of her mother Marie for 2 years. The highlights of her life was music, being up north, and helping others.
Preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Koop, husband Richard Gordon, mother Marie Lundeen, father Lawrence Lundeen.
Carol is survived by her daughter, Kathy Grant, grandchildren: Chad Grant, Sheena Goff, Leah Fulin, grandchildren: Jayden, Tanner, Brighton, Sheena: Lashawn, Lavont, Lineya, Quayvon, Leah, Zayd, Great Grandchild: Cayden.
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Danforth Community Church, with Pastor Peter Dobson officiating. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at a later date.
