Obituary

Carol Marie (Moe) Sundem of Finlayson, MN passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Sandstone Health Care Center. She was 84 years old.

Carol was born on September 7, 1938, to Albert and Nellie (Paugh) Moe in Montevideo, MN. She was one of six children. Carol was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in her hometown. She graduated from Montevideo High School in June of 1955 and married Weldon B. Sundem on October 2, 1955. Carol loved being a mother and enjoyed raising her four children. There were many things that brought joy to Carol's life, but the thing that made Carol's face light up was her family, whether it was making a great meal for Weldon, playing with her children, or teaching the grandchildren about different vegetables in the garden. If you asked anyone that knew Carol, they would tell you she was a remarkable woman whose faith was great. Carol was a member of United Church of Christ and the Order of Eastern Star. Community involvement was a big part of Carol's life also, she was a member of the Sandstone Quarry Lions and the Finlayson Community Club.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Nellie and her loving husband of 49 years, Weldon.

Carol is survived by her children, Jeoffrey B. Sundem of Richmond, VA, Denise M. Phillips of Sacramento, CA, Kenneth R. Sundem of Sacramento, CA, Michael J.
