Carol Fischer, of Ogilvie, Minnesota passed away on November 28, 2021 at Eastwood Senior Living in Mora, Minnesota.  She was 84 years old.

Carolyn Mary Fischer was born on April 2, 1937, in Onamia, Minnesota to Daniel and Clara (Schaak) Van Risseghem.  She graduated from Onamia High School in 1955.  On September 8, 1956, she married Jerry Fischer in Onamia, Minnesota.  They lived in Onamia, Blaine, Andover and in 1999 they moved to Ogilvie.  Jerry and Carol loved going to the cabin in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and spending their winters in Alamo, Texas.

Carol was a devoted mom and grandma and loved spending time with her family.  She loved gardening, baking, and crafting.  She enjoyed fishing, singing in the church choir, and was an avid cribbage player.    Carol spent a lot of her free time watching and feeding the birds.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Clara Van Risseghem, her son Kevin Fischer, sister Delores "Betty" Anderson, brother Donald Van Risseghem and great-granddaughter Lainey Buhman.

Carol is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jerry Fischer, children; Stephen (Barb) Fischer, Mark (Kathy) Fischer, Debra (Kirk) Coughlin, David (Heshie Zinman) Fischer, Tim (Doreen) Fischer and Lynne (Donnie) Ogg, 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and brothers; Dan (Linda) Van Risseghem and Greg Van Risseghem.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 11:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 201 Forest Avenue, Mora, Minnesota, with Father Derek Wiechmann officiating.  There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at the church.  Casketbearers will be Christeen Hennes, Cassie Keller, Keely Buhman, Brian Pfoser, Laura Smith, and Dalton Ogg.  Burial will take place following the service at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mora, Minnesota.
