Robert Howard Dressel, a beloved husband, father, and dedicated farmer, passed away on January 16, 2025, at the St. Cloud VA facility. He was born on November 22, 1949, in Hazen, North Dakota, and moved to Ogilvie, Minnesota, as a small child. Growing up in Ogilvie, he graduated from Ogilvie High School and then bought a farm where he poured his heart into farming for 25 years.

Bob's journey took him to the University of Minnesota for a year before he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving bravely in Vietnam. During his 18 months of duty, he earned a Purple Heart, a testament to his courage and commitment.

On August 2, 1980, he married Harriet Petersen in Braham, Minnesota, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. Bob was a proud father to Renae Dressel (Jordan Sparks) of Minneapolis, Paul Dressel (Maureen Barry) of Foreston, and Peter Dressel (Beth) of Milaca. He also cherished the role of grandpa to his grandchildren—Hailey, Lucas, Levi, Zeke, and Ivy.

Bob had a deep passion for farming, which he pursued with enthusiasm until the end of his days. He was also an avid reader and had a keen interest in conservation, always looking for ways to nurture the land he loved.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Harriet; his children and grandchildren; his siblings, Gail Lobdell (Mike) of Ogilvie, Brad Dressel (Leona) of Grasston, and Craig Dressel (Brenda) of Prescott, Wisconsin; and countless friends who will remember him fondly.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Edith Dressel, and his brother Kent Dressel. He will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Dresser-Methven Funeral Home in Mora.  Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the funeral home.  Military honors are being provided by the Mora American Legion Lee Goldsmith Post 201.
