Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverly Laverne Johnson, of  beloved wife, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 8, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on September 6, 1946, in the charming town of Finlayson, MN, Beverly grew up with a smile on her face and a joke in her heart. She attended grade school in Finlayson and Champlin, eventually graduating from Anoka High School in 1964.

Beverly married the love of her life, Carl Johnson, on June 7, 1969. Together, they shared a beautiful life for an incredible 57 years, filled with laughter and love. Known for her sunny personality and infectious sense of humor, Beverly could brighten even the gloomiest of days with her quick wit and joyful spirit.

A dedicated professional, she spent many years working in the finance department at Mercy and Unity Hospital. After retiring, Beverly and Carl returned to the Hinckley area, where they enjoyed the tranquil beauty of their surroundings.

Beverly was a passionate fan of NASCAR, football, and the Olympic Games—both summer and winter. She loved playing cards and had a special fondness for Disney World, making countless memories with her dear friend Pam during their many trips.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Vivian (Peterson) Heinonen.

Beverly is survived by her husband Carl Johnson of Hinckley, MN, her sister Diane (Robert) Mecl of Somerset, WI, her niece Kari Mecl of New Hope, MN, and nephew Chad (Sarah) Mecl of Somerset, WI, and their children Zach of Shakopee, MN and Josh of Somerset, WI.

A service is being planned for a later date.
