It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty Lorraine (Carlson) Oredson, who left us on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 94 at the Sandstone (CURA) Health Care Center in Sandstone, MN. Betty was born on September 4, 1931, to Victor and Ida (Gustafson) Carlson in Dell Grove Township, MN. She grew up in the area, attending Bass Lake Elementary and Hancock Elementary before graduating from Wilson High School in 1950.

Betty began her career working at Shafner's Dime Store in St. Paul, then moved on to Montgomery Wards, and eventually found her calling in banking, where she dedicated over 20 years to the Mora banks. It was through her Aunt Margaret that Betty met her beloved husband, Bob. They married on February 19, 1955, and shared many wonderful years together until Bob's passing on July 16, 1994.

In 2016, Betty moved to Sandstone to be closer to family. She enjoyed a full life filled with bowling, dancing, and jigsaw puzzles, and loved spending time out with her friends from Mora for lunch. A woman of faith, Betty was baptized on November 29, 1931, and attended Jehovah Lutheran Church in St. Paul, later becoming a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mora.

Betty is preceded in death by her husband Bob, her parents, Victor and Ida, and her siblings: sister Doris Lindemeer and brothers Ken and Rick Carlson, as well as her niece Lori Bridenstine and nephews Scott and Chip Carlson.

Betty is survived by her sister, Becki Bridenstine of Finlayson, MN, nephews Mark Bridenstine, Brad Carlson, Bob Lindemeier, nieces, Cindy Kelly, Jaye Toth, Mary Firestien, Sherri Cardoza, Jill Seward, and Lindsey Carlson.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mora, with Pastor Anthony Cloose officiating. Visitation will take place from 10am to 11am at the church. Betty will be laid to rest at Lutheran Memorial Cemetery in Hinckley, MN at a later date.
