Betty Doris Nielsen was born 11/21/1937 to Elof & Olive Friesendahl.  She passed away on 7/4/26 at the Sandstone Health Care Center in Sandstone, MN.  She was better known as Doris to the Danforth & Sandstone communities.  She grew up on the family farm in Danforth Township.  She attended Danforth School through the 8th grade & then attended Sandstone High School.  Doris enjoyed watching western movies (especially John Wayne).  She also enjoyed word games & crossword puzzles.  She loved a good cup of coffee "uptown" and the visiting that came along with it.  She helped her dad with auto repairs & could change the oil, change a tire & occasionally do heavier auto repairs.  She loved horses, dogs & kitties.  She did not love thunderstorms.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, and all her siblings; Elof Jr., Ruth, Carl, Lloyd & Gene and daughter in law Gleeta Stover.  She is survived by her children; David, Mae (Mark), and Danny (Erin), 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held in the Danforth Chapel, Saturday, August 1, 2026.  Visitation 10am, Service 11am, internment at the Danforth Cemetery & lunch to follow.
