Bernard Leonard Dobosenski, 82, a man described as a hardworking, farmer, jack of all trades, loving father, a simple, kind, giving man, and a good friend, passed away peacefully with daughters by his side, on October 18, 2023. Benny was born on the generational family farm in Sturgeon Lake on August 8, 1941. This is where he was raised by his parents John and Pauline Dobosenski. He attended Willow River School. In 1965, he married BettyAnne Kropp, and this marriage blessed him with five daughters. He worked the farm, butchered, and worked several jobs, in which he gave his heart and soul to, while raising his daughters who loved and respected him dearly. He was a very good man with loads of family and friends, able to tell Benny stories that are sure to make anyone chuckle. He always said, "I may not be rich with wealth, but I am rich with family and friends." His passion for farming on his hobby farm and butchering with his daughters and grandkids by his side, were things that brought him a smile and joy. He loved to snowmobile, hunt and icefish and make birdhouses, stools, and trinkets from scrap. He spent years logging with his brother, Leroy, with the teams of horses and giving sleigh rides for the community. He enjoyed the old-fashioned farming and thrashing days. Benny took pride in teaching his family God is number one, good work ethics will get you through, how to plant your own garden and survival in a tough world. His positive outlook in life was contagious! Benny worked at Conwed Mill in Cloquet, MN for 20 years prior to its closing. After that he spent years working for Danelski Construction and Rehbein Sod Farm. He was a member of Northern Pine Riders and St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was an alter boy during the time of Latin Masses when he was a boy.

Benny is survived by his five daughters; Marie Anderson, Theresa Dobosenski, Heather (Ryan) Karulak, Angela (Dave) Kliniski, and Bridie (Jake) Wickstrom. Grandchildren; Michaela and Wyatt Anderson, Shawna Wager, Ryan Vogel, Colton Dobosenski Duresky, Victoria and Nicholas Walczynski, Klara Karulak, Ashley and Austin Kliniski, and Scotty (Hannah) Thompson. Great grandchildren; Delaney Wager and Kenadi Klejeski, Rylee Vogel, Annabelle and Ravenna Thompson and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by Geraldine Youngberg, who was a steadfast friend in tough times.

Benny was greeted at the gates of heaven by our Lord Jesus Christ our Savior, his unborn sons, deceased parents John and Pauline Dobosenski, sister Betty and brothers William Sr. and Leroy, as well as grandson Danny Boy.

A visitation will be held celebrating Benny's legacy 1-2 p.m. on October 21, 2023, proceeded by a funeral mass of Christian Burial at St. Isidore's Catholic Church, Sturgeon Lake, MN. Intermittent will follow escorted by a team of horses to St. Isidore's Cemetery, taking Benny on his last road trip. If you knew Benny, you know he took pride in his 100% Polish heritage.
