Arnold (Arnie) Leroy Sandin, age 84, formerly of Minneapolis and Isle, Minnesota peacefully passed away on Thursday December 14, 2023 in his room, listening to Johnny Cash at Golden Horizons of Sandstone.

Arnie was born on July 25, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN to Alfred and Marion (Stromberg) Sandin.  Arnie grew up in the Minneapolis area and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After high school, he joined the Marines and was in the reserves when he married Patricia (Pat) Gallagher on September 24, 1960. They lived in South Minneapolis, raising their four children. Arnie worked for the City of Minneapolis - Sewer Maintenance Department for 33 years.  Arnie loved bird hunting, fishing, deer hunting, golfing, playing softball, cards, bingo and his $5.00 in pull tabs.  Arnie enjoyed their lake home in Isle and was constantly busy in the yard or the pole barn.  Arnie also loved to spend  the winters in Texas. Most of all Arnie loved spending time with his family, especially the grand kids and his great grand kids.

Arnie is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, his parents Alfred and Marion, his mother-in-law, Grace and father-in-law, Fred, his sister-in-laws Mary and Colleen.

Arnie is survived by his brother, Gerald (Jay) Sandin; son, Richard (Mindy Kespohl) Sandin of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Wendy (Michael) Johnson of Sandstone, MN; daughter, Jodi (Gary) Nohrenberg of Lino Lakes, MN; son, Jason Sandin of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Jared (Rachael) Sandin, Kyle (Charlotte) Sandin, Kattie (Luke) Nass, Bridget (Jared) Knudson, Mikayla (Shane Liila-Fogarty) Sandin, Jacob Nohrenberg, Leah Nohrenberg, Jenavieve Nohrenberg; step grandchildren, Matt (Adrina) Johnson and Ashley (Austan) Erickson great grandchildren, Caleb Sandin, Erin Knudson; nieces and nephews, Laura (Mike) Johnson, Victoria (Anthony) Keel, Jeff Sandin, James (Desma) Sandin.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday December 21, 2023 at 12:00PM at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Josh Blair officiating.  There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
