Ann Lynn Kester, 72, of Sandstone, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 11, 2024.

Ann was born on August 11, 1952 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Clarence and Barbra (Markhus) Schiller.  Ann grew up in St. Paul, MN.  She spent her days helping in the family grocery store and fishing with her siblings and grandparents. Ann found her joy of baking in her grandmother's kitchen, showing love and care throughout her life through almond bars and other sweet treats enjoyed by all.

Ann met her first husband while still in high school. She married David H. Marks in 1973 and they settled in Kroschel Township where they eventually welcomed their son, Jonathan.   Later in life, Ann married Dennis Kester and welcomed their daughter, Laura. She and Denny stayed in the Kroschel area.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband Dennis Kester, mother, Barbara; her father, Clarence; younger brother, Tim Schiller and sister, Kay Trapp.

Ann will be forever remembered and missed by children Jonathan (Amanda) Marks and Laura Kester; brother, Mark Schiller, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many brother-and-sister-in-laws, step children, nephews, nieces, neighbors and friends.

Ann dedicated herself to her family, her church and community.  Each day, in everything she did, Ann lived her deep faith in God.  No matter the need, Ann was quick to volunteer, quilting, helping with kids in the Wings program, teaching vacation Bible school, making food and visiting people within the community.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Kroschel.  Visitation will be from 10-11 A.M. at the church. The family is requesting that donations be made to St. John's Lutheran Church in Kroschel.
