Alex Anderson, of Mora, MN, formerly of McGrath, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. He was 28 years old.

Alex was born on May 16, 1997, to Robert and Chanin Anderson. He was raised and grew up in McGrath until 2008. Alex then moved to Mora and graduated from Mora High School in 2015. He went on to work loyally at Johnson's Hardware & Rental, where he was a valued employee.

Alex found joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, target shooting, playing video games, and most of all, spending time with his children Ryder and Luna and his dog, Waffles. His warmth and dedication to family was evident in every aspect of his life. He also enjoyed participating in the redneck races, collecting agates and hot wheels.

Alex is preceded in death by his grandpa, Dennis Alldridge; uncle, James Angstman; and cousin, Mike Hakes.

Alex is survived by his mother, Chanin (Mike) Anderson of Pueblo, CO; his father, Robert Anderson of Cambridge, MN; siblings: Alicia (Mike) Anderson of McGrath, MN, Sarah (Justin) Anderson of McGregor, MN, Nathan Anderson of Mora, MN, Emily Anderson of Pine City, MN, Richard Anderson of Cambridge, MN; Hannah Bock the mother of Alex's children, Ryder his son and Luna his daughter; nieces, Brooke Kabrud of McGrath, MN, Allie Rian of McGregor, MN; nephews, Hunter Rian of McGregor, MN Grayson Pool of McGregor, MN, Lane Anderson of Mora, MN, Colt Anderson of Mora, MN, Aunt Donna (Paul) Haug, Pine City, MN, Aunt Deanna (Shawn) Pettyjohn, Doran, MN, Uncle David (Casey) Anderson Mora, MN; grandparents, Bud and Debbie Anderson of Mora, MN, Marcia Anderson of Sherwood, ND, Sue Alldridge of Anoka, MN; many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Alex on Saturday, January 31st from 1pm to 4pm at the Hinckley Community Center, located at 102 Dunn Ave N, Hinckley, MN. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Alex's life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
