Nikkita Jean Newton died on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at her home in Anoka. She was 21 years old.
Nikki was born on August 5, 1992 in Princeton, MN and she lived her first ten years in Mora, MN. Her mom then married a wonderful man and father and they moved to St. Francis for a few years before finding their forever home in Anoka. Nikki started schooling in Mora and then transferred to St. Francis and Anoka. The last five years she was home schooled by the best teacher ever: Cheri McQuay.
Nikki loved playing with her dolls, singing, dancing and bringing joy to others. Those who were able to meet her were truly blessed. Nikki was God’s greatest gift to her mom and dad.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother Carol Newton and Granddad Max Newton and her uncle Michael Newton.
Nikkita is survived by her parents Jodi and Chris Mykkanen; step sisters Desirae and Olivia Mykkanen; grandparents Sonny and Annette Mykkanen; aunt and uncle Julie and Dan Holmstrom; aunt and uncle Marc and Donna Mykkanen, great grandpa Lewis England; cousins Brandi and Jesse Holmstrom, CJ and Dani Holmstrom; Fiancé Chris Farr along with many extended family, , Creative Care Resources Family, staff family and adopted families.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at GraceLife Church in Anoka with Pastor Jim Thomas and Pastor Cass Shell officiating. Visitation will be from 11-11:30 at the church. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Mora, MN at a later date.
