Alice Viola (Nelson) Workman, age 95, daughter of Claus and Cora Nelson, was born on November 30th, 1916, died on September 8, 2012 at the home of her daughter Lorene (Ken) Vork. She was born and raised in Bass Lake and Hinckley area. Alice met and married William “Bill” Author Workman Sr. on May 9, 1933. Together they had a special marriage, and raised 8 children. Alice loved her books, family, sewing, crocheting, embroidery, caring for her many children, grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sons Maurice Sr., William “Bill” Jr., 1 daughter Lorraine (Workman) Brune, grandson Chriss Workman, and granddaughter Loria Workman. Alice is survived by her children; Byron (Patty) Workman of Fortine, Montana, Linda Klejeski of Goldendale, Washington, Lorene (Ken) Vork of Hinckley, Kevin Workman of Redmond, Oregon, and Maynard Workman of Hinckley. Alice will be remembered by her family, many grandkids, great-grand kids and great-great-grandchildren, many friends and other children she helped raise. Alice and Bill had been called Mom and Dad to all!
A Memorial service for Alice Workman will be held Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Methven Funeral Home in Sandstone with Ken Vork officiating. Musicians are Ken and Lorene Vork and Joey Vork. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Honorary casketbearers are Travis Kohler, Kenny Vork, Levi Kohler, Ricky Vork, Jagger Kohler and Brandon Vork. Inurnment at Spring Park Cemetery in Sandstone, Minnesota.
