Kenneth Pipenhagen

Ken R. Pipenhagen of Isle, formerly of Elk River, passed away peacefully in the St. Cloud Hospital on March 21, 2012, after a battle with cancer. He had his sense of humor and was giving the nurses trouble right to the end.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 24th at Sacred Heart Church, 225 E. 2nd Ave., Wahkon, MN 56386, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Private family interment at Fort Snelling.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 56 years, Bernice; son Jon Pipenhagen (Deb); daughters Lorie Anderson (Todd) and Tami Johnson (Lonnie); and six wonderful grandchildren, Kelly, Aaron, Willow, Gabe, Anna and Alex. He was preceded in death by his brothers Herb, Gordy, Donald, Ray, Dale and sister Dorothy Loger.

He was born to William and Clara Pipenhagen on September 11, 1933. He graduated from Anoka High School in 1952 and served in the Army in Germany. Ken was a barber in Elk River for 44 years, before retiring to Isle in 2003. Ken enjoyed fishing and camping, his dog Misty, working in his yard and especially his grandchildren.
